Agriculture, Business and Estate Planning Law Firm
Anthony Van Ruiten, JD, MBA
After graduating from business school, Anthony worked as a management consultant. From there he pursued a business career, ultimately reaching the level of CEO.
Anthony went on to earn his law degree and began his legal career with a large California law firm. He worked in the firm's Sacramento office representing both private clients and public agencies. During those years, Anthony gained valuable experience in a wide range of both transactional and litigation matters. In 2011, Anthony established Van Ruiten Law Corporation and now serves clients all over northern California in the areas of agriculture, business and estate planning.
Anthony gives each matter the personal attention it deserves. He personally meets with each client to evaluate their case and together with the client develops a plan of action. Anthony strives to provide his clients with superior legal advice in a timely and cost efficient manner.
Anthony believes that clients are best served by providing superior transactional advice and avoiding litigation. To this end, Anthony has over 20 years of experience in business and law. Anthony's unique combination of education and experience enables him to provide comprehensive legal advice on business and wealth succession matters. His clients benefit directly from his ability to evaluate and understand the legal and practical issues involved in a client matter. His real world background in business, strategic planning, resource allocation, and tax planning provide the foundation for his law practice.
With this foundation, Anthony is able to assist clients in a manner that is unique in the legal field. His advice and counsel includes "walking through" a proposed solution with a client to ensure that it achieves their goals and does not create any unintended consequences. Contracts and agreements are tailored to meet the specific objectives of the client.
Anthony's business background also includes agriculture. As an Agricultural Law Attorney, Anthony is very familiar with agriculture and water in California. This specialization enables him to effectively represent his farmer and rancher clients in the complex environment that is California agriculture. He routinely prepares regulatory filings for USDA Farm Service Agency, the Bureau of Reclamation, the California Department of Water Resources and county agricultural commissioners. He has also served on numerous boards and commissions involving agriculture and water.
Trusts, Wills & Probate Attorney
As an Estate Planning Lawyer, Anthony understands that an estate plan is a very personal set of documents. Further, for a plan to be successful it requires a high degree of trust and understanding between the attorney and the client. Accordingly, Anthony utilizes a comprehensive style approach in his estate planning practice. In preparing his advice, Anthony first considers all aspects of the family, the sources of wealth, and the goals of the client. Based on this information he develops a recommended plan and presents it to his client for review. Upon approval Anthony drafts the necessary estate plan documents and assists the client with implementation. Anthony's practice includes both simple and sophisticated estate plans.
